DYAD: When Steel Breathes Cosmic Geometry
The DYAD project blurs the boundaries between interior architecture, sculptural realism, and modern heating technology. At first glance, it captivates with its monumental casing made of massive steel plates finished in a deep smithy black. A fascinating detail is the assembly itself—despite their extreme weight, the monolithic front plate and the upper slanted segments are attached to the load-bearing structure using powerful neodymium magnets. This solution creates perfectly clean lines completely free of visible screws or joints.
The aesthetic code of the casing is inspired by astrophysics and microbiology. The laser-cut texture evokes rotating binary systems, double stars dancing in a gravitational field, or organic dividing cells. Through these geometric perforations, the fireplace naturally breathes, releasing heat into the room and creating a dynamic play of shadows and light depending on how intensely the fire blazes inside.
An Energy Core with Intelligent Monitoring
Beneath the sculptural steel design lies a complex, custom-engineered hot-water system that works in perfect symbiosis with the home's existing heating circuit.
Hot-Water Heart: The foundation consists of a premium ROMOTOP HEAT W 2G fireplace insert, which efficiently distributes heat output both into the room and into the hot-water exchanger.
Energy Management: The fireplace is connected to a massive 500-liter water accumulation tank. The entire system is intelligently integrated with the original gas-boiler heating setup, allowing for a seamless flow and sharing of energy according to the home's current demand.
Custom Electronic Regulation: The system is equipped with a suite of digital temperature sensors and microcontrollers (ESP/Wemos interfaces) that monitor temperature differentials across the fireplace insert, valves, and the accumulation tank in real time. This data is used for precise circulation control and to maximize combustion efficiency.
Surface Finish: The steel panels are treated with a highly durable textured powder coating in a smithy black shade, which excellently resists temperature fluctuations and emphasizes the raw, industrial aesthetic of the object.
