Dyadra: When a Test Piece Becomes an Art Piece
The story of the Dyadra table lamp is a perfect example of how unplanned, yet incredibly powerful concepts emerge within an open laboratory. This object originally saw the light of day as a technological test piece—a scaled-down sample of sheet steel used to verify laser behavior and perforation density before executing the monumental DYAD fireplace. Instead of ending up forgotten in a workshop corner, the sample was given a new shape, a curve, and a new purpose.
The object organically inherits the aesthetic code of its larger fireplace sibling. Its body is formed by an elegantly curved steel plate featuring the signature motif of dividing cells or rotating celestial bodies, treated with the identical textured powder coating in a smithy black shade. Dyadra thus becomes the ideal interior satellite to the fireplace, casting the same atmosphere and kinetic interplay of shadows into another corner of the room.
Harmony of Details from Steel to Cord
Every element of the lamp has been meticulously chosen to complete a cohesive industrial-analogue impression and fully harmonize with the core design language.
Material and Geometry: A bent steel sheet several millimeters thick, cut by a precise industrial laser. The stable triangular base seamlessly transitions into a graceful arc from which the light source is suspended.
Light Source: The lamp is equipped with a designer LED filament bulb with a uniquely shaped glowing core. It emits warm, intimate light that beautifully contrasts with the raw black metal and casts soft shadows on the walls through the perforations.
Stylish Electrical Wiring: Power is supplied via a standard 230V wall socket. The uniqueness of the object is elevated by details such as a premium twisted fabric cord in a black-and-grey pattern, a retro inline switch, and a matching plug that perfectly blend into the overall smithy aesthetic.
