Ignis: An Architecture of Light Curves for the Modern Interior

The Ignis mood light transforms digital sequences into a hypnotic display of luminous pathways. The visual centerpiece of the object is an airy, three-dimensional cage formed by layered and precisely curved light-guiding rods that converge toward a central axis. The translucent base softly diffuses the underlying glow, while the sweeping lines carry crisp points of color up into the space.

The result is a dynamic sculpture that functions as a calming ambient centerpiece in any room. The light passing through the optical fibers can seamlessly shift from vibrant color waves to complex generative animations with gentle, fluid pulsations, making it the perfect piece for tailoring evening atmospheres.

Light-Guiding Architecture and Wireless Logic

The technical design of the Ignis fixture relies on clean light distribution and the minimalism of hidden electronic components.

  • PMMA Optical Fibers: The light stream is channeled through a set of solid PMMA optical fibers. These are mechanically sculpted into elegant arches that capture the glow at the root and allow it to rise smoothly to the terminal focal points.

  • Algorithmic RGB LEDs: At the heart of the lighting system are addressable smart RGB LEDs. These enable detailed rendering of color gradients, smooth dimming, and the real-time generation of organic animations.

  • Web Interface & ESP32: The fixture is equipped with an ESP32 microcontroller and an onboard Wi-Fi module. All configurations for color palettes, animation speeds, and brightness levels take place wirelessly via a user-friendly web application, eliminating the need for additional software.

  • Construction & USB-C: The entire base and stabilization rings are fabricated using precise 3D printing from sturdy PLA material. Power is supplied via a modern and universal USB-C connector.
