Osseon: A Symbiosis of Raw Geometry and Natural Maturation
The Osseon garden table was conceived with a clear conceptual goal—to create a dignified and visually harmonized companion to the world-renowned Chair One. Instead of literally copying their purely triangular grid, the table introduces its own, more organic interpretation of perforation. The distinct polygonal top is radially divided into segments with precise laser cuts that evoke the structure of a fish skeleton. This pattern communicates ideally with the voids in the chairs, while granting the object a strong autonomous presence.
However, the true character of the Osseon table unfolds only with the passage of time beneath the open sky. Long-term exposure to the elements imprints the trace of living nature onto the minimalist white surface. Subtle oxidation within the lines of the laser cuts and the growth of lichen do not diminish the object's value; instead, they bestow an authentic patina, depth, and a timeless elegance that perfectly fuses the raw metal with the surrounding ecosystem.
Architectural Context and Material Evolution
Every detail of the table was engineered for maximum outdoor stability and a visual dialogue with modern furniture.
Heavy Steel Architecture: The table is fabricated from heavy-gauge sheet steel, ensuring uncompromising stability even in harsh weather conditions. The surface is protected by a highly durable matte white powder coating.
Laser Perforation: Beyond its aesthetic function, the radial pattern of the polygonal tabletop serves a practical purpose—it effectively drains rainwater, and the narrow slits allow tiny natural elements to intertwine, enhancing the table's bond with the vegetation.
Natural Patina: Controlled corrosion within the cut details and natural organic growth turn each piece into a unique original. This material aging process is an intentional aesthetic feature, not a defect.
Polygonal Base: The design of the base strictly reflects and echoes the multifaceted geometry of the tabletop. Its matching cutout motif provides a low center of gravity, visually anchoring the entire object and creating an elegant contrast to the slender legs of the surrounding chairs.
